Halifax BSides (2024)

On November 14, 2024, Braden delivered a 60-minute presentation at the cybersecurity conference, Halifax BSides, titled Cybersecurity 101 for Small Businesses and Nonprofits.

JANS Company Program Executive Training  (2024)

On November 9, 2024, Braden delivered Technology for Small Businesses to Junior Achievement of Nova Scotia's company program students as part of their executive training.

Jamf Nation User Conference (2024)

On October 1, 2024, Braden presented at the Jamf Nation User Conference (JNUC) hosted in Nashville, Tennessee on Jamf Executive Threat Prevention. You can watch a recording of the presentation here. 

200 Level-up @ JNUC 2024

On September 30, 2024, Braden led a level-up session for attendees of Jamf Nation User Conference (JNUC) to recertify with Jamf Pro version 11.

Business Technology Management (2024)

Braden taught Business Technology Management at Acadia University during the Fall 2024 semester.

Social Media Day Halifax (2024)

Braden presented at Social Media Day Halifax on June 7, 2024, talking about social engineering's impact on social media. 

JANS Classroom Volunteering  (2024)

Braden was welcomed back into the classroom as a volunteer for Junior Achievement of Nova Scotia (JANS). On May 28, 2024, he delivered three sessions of Dollars with Sense to students at a Bridgewater High School. Students learned about financial prioritization, budgeting, and credit scores. 

JANS Company Program Executive Training  (2024)

On March 2, 2024, Braden was thrilled to deliver two technology-focused presentations to the students of Junior Achievement of Nova Scotia's company program executive training: The Business of Tomorrow’s Technology and Data, Technology and Decision Making.

Jamf Nation User Conference (2023)

On September 19, 2023, Braden presented at the Jamf Nation User Conference (JNUC) hosted in Austin, Texas on Jamf's security portfolio. You can watch a recording of the presentation here

Social Media Day Halifax (2023)

On June 9, 2023, Braden spoke at Social Media Day Halifax, where he presented on the importance of cybersecurity and social media.

Get More Done (2023)

In partnership with Digital Nova Scotia, Braden delivered 'Get More Done,' a digital productivity workshop, on May 9, 2023, to help people leverage their tech better to reduce distractions, increase their focus, and get more done.

Jamf Internal Workshops (2023)

In partnership with Jamf's Training and Development team, Braden delivered three workshops covering digital productivity, Apple's spreadsheet app, Numbers, and Apple's word processor, Pages.

DNS's Get into IT: IT Support Program

Get into IT was one of Digital Nova Scotia's job skills programs. The program is designed to help the under-employed develop technology literacy skills in either IT support or cybersecurity. Braden is the course designed and instructor for the IT support steam of the program. 

Cybersecurity Training

Braden designed and delivered cybersecurity training for a Halifax software company. The training was designed to educate employees on potential digital threats, ways to mitigate those threats and the why behind cybersecurity.

Today at Apple & Apple Camp

From June 2018 to Jan 2020, Braden worked as a Creative Pro at Apple. During that time, he facilitated Today at Apple sessions where customers learned about their Apple devices. Additionally, Braden helped young people explore their passion for technology through Field Trips to the Apple Store and Apple Camp.

Financial Literacy with JANS

Braden volunteered with Junior Achievement of Nova Scotia as a classroom volunteer from September 2016 to March 2020. Before the COVID-19 pandemic, Braden went into school classrooms to teach young people financial literacy and entrepreneurship. Braden re-designed two JA programs and offered a unique delivery experience that allowed him to connect with the students.

The Human Element in Cybersecurity Panel (2023)

On October 31, 2023, Braden joined Reg MacWilliams and Herny Awere as a panellist for Talking Tech: The Human Element in Cybersecurity, hosted by Digital Nova Scotia. 

Get it in Writing Podcast Interview

Braden joined Corinne Boudreau on Season 3, Episode 40 of the Get it in Writing podcast to discuss cybersecurity and digital privacy for online businesses. The episode was published on September 19, 2023.   

Collaboration and the Modern Workspace Panel (2022)

Braden joined three other panellists to share thoughts on what collaboration in the modern workspace looks like in a post-pandemic world. The panel was at the Atlantic Technology Summit held in Halifax on November 16, 2022.

Jamf Report (2022)

On July 18, 2022, Braden participated as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) on Jamf Safe Internet on the Jamf Report. Braden led creating customer onboarding content as part of his role as a Learning Experience Designer, Security at Jamf.

Skills For Hire Panels (2023-2024)

In partnership with Digital Nova Scotia, Braden moderated two dozen panels throughout 2023 and 2024 for their Skills For Hire program. Panel topics included data analytics, cybersecurity, modern technology, AI, and transitioning into tech! 

Talking Talent & Talent Culture in Nova Scotia Panel (2023)

On April 27, 2023, Braden moderated a Talking Tech panel for Digital Nova Scotia covering talent culture and talent acquisition in Nova Scotia.

Cybersecurity Panel (2022)

Braden moderated a Cybersecurity Panel held via Zoom in August 2022. The panel consisted of three experts from the cybersecurity industry who shared their thoughts and provided advice on the industry. Braden directed the conversation and posed questions to the panellists.

JANS Pitch It! (2022)

Braden enjoyed MCing Junior Achievement of Nova Scotia's 2022 provincial Pitch It! competition. 2022's Pitch It! featured seven student-run companies that presented their businesses to a panel of judges. Two companies went home with a $250 cash prize. Braden hosted the event with humour and efficiency, encouraging audience interaction and engagement. 

IT Industry Panel (2022)

Braden moderated an IT Industry Panel discussion held via Zoom in February 2022. The panel consisted of experts from the IT support and cybersecurity space who shared their thoughts on the IT industry. Braden directed the conversation and posed questions to the panellists.

Halifax Chamber of Commerce Dinner (2016)

In 2016 Braden and his colleague Megan presented to the Halifax Chamber of Commerce to help champion the great work Junior Achievement of Nova Scotia was doing around the Province.

JANS Awards Gala (2016)

In late 2016 Braden co-hosted the Junior Achievement of Nova Scotia Awards Gala. During this event, select JANS participants receive awards for their outstanding work. In addition to co-hosting, Braden also was awarded the professional engagement award that year.
