Braden Newell is an Atlantic Canadian technology educator and municipal politician providing expertise on the Apple ecosystem, cybersecurity, and digital productivity.
With a life mission to make technology easier to understand, Braden is a talented writer, award-winning videographer, and experienced public speaker, helping people learn both in-person and virtually. Over his decade in the technology sector, Braden has developed a talent for translating complex technical topics into "simpler speak" by creating modern and engaging learning experiences.
Throughout his career he's worked as a Creative Pro at Apple, helping people learn about their personal technology; Learning Experience Designer II at Jamf, creating instructor-led certification courses and asynchronous learning content exploring the company's cybersecurity portfolio; writer for Pocket-lint and MobileSyrup, covering Apple technology; instructor at Acadia University teaching Business Technology Management within its School of Business Administration; and freelance consultant helping individuals, small businesses, and non-profits better understand their technology needs.
Braden holds a Master of Business Administration, concentrating in technology innovation, from the University of Fredericton and a Bachelor of Commerce, majoring in computing and information systems, from Saint Mary's University. Braden also holds over two dozen professional certifications, badges, and certificates from organizations such as Apple, Jamf, and CompTIA, proving his technical and industry knowledge.
Outside of work, Braden is a Councillor with the Town of Bridgewater, Chair of the Energize Bridgewater Advisory Committee, and member of Junior Achievement of Nova Scotia's board of directors and Park View Education Centre's School Advisory Council. Braden is also the proud dog dad to Simba and Honey.
